AMERICAN TOWNSHIP — Quality Welding & Fabrication is doubling the size of its building at the corner of Baty and East roads. The Allen County Commission on Thursday unanimously approved an enterprise zone agreement for the locally owned company, which employs 45 full-time staff and plans to add 17 new jobs with the expansion. With the enterprise zone agreement, Quality Welding & Fabrication will receive 95% property tax abatement for 10 years in American Township, Allen County and the Elida schools district. “It’s one of those incentives that helps small companies decide whether this is going to be a feasible project for them to do,” said Cynthia Leis, director of business development for the Allen Economic Development Group. “They can take that tax savings and help reinvest in their new jobs and with machinery and equipment purchases.”
